A philanthropist and volunteer, a head teacher and an author of novels Christian has nine women who are of the Richmond YWCA Women Awards recognized 2011th
Alice T. Goodwin, Yvonne W. Brandon and Stacy Hawkins Adams are among the winners in 2011 honored at a luncheon 6th May
The prices are "an important role in all exceptional women," said Cassandra Emery, CEO and Executive Director of the YWCA of Richmond.
"The achievements of these women made significant progress for women and children have resulted in this community. The class of 2011 joined the 300 people who have already been recognized for excellence in leadership. Representing all sectors of the community, whether business and education, voluntary work and arts. "
Breakfast helps Donations for YWCA programs, including domestic violence shelter, support care, affordable nurseries and after school, emergency access and 24-hour trained counselors for sexual assault.
The list includes this year's award categories, and adds a new category in the non-profit management. The recipients are:
Art: Lorena K. Foley
• Foley business owner, a polling firm for banks, credit unions and nonprofit organizations.
• Director, Arts and Entertainment Center in Hanover.
• One of the founders of Townhound.com, a website created to highlight the developments in the area of Ashland and Hanover.
• Co-director and co-producer of the musical variety show Ashland, co-director and co-founder and Co-Director of the Hanover Idols Competition.
Business: Katherine Busser
• Executive Vice President of Capital One Bank.
• Member of the Executive Committee of the Foundation of Illinois early childhood.
• Member involvement in the health system board.
Communications: Stacy Hawkins Adams
• Author, professional speaker, author and marketing consultant.
• Manager of Public Affairs to prevent child abuse in Virginia.
• Founding member of the Board of Richmond Christian Leadership Institute and the effects of Richmond 100, the founding president of the American Christian Fiction Writers chapter Richmond
• Former Richmond Times-Dispatch journalist whose work includes a series of reports on welfare reform, the range of a year gone by a young man, and stories about women who live local YWCA.
Education: Yvonne W. Brandon
• Superintendent, Richmond Public Schools.
• Stall protection initiative in a program to prevent multiple levels of early school leaving and general surgery and recovery.
Law and Government: Colleen Marea Quinn
• Director and owner of Equity DeBoer and Quinn Locke Partin
• Founder and Director of the Center of the violation of women and the adoption of the law of subrogation and Law Center.
• worked to change the law on adoption in Virginia from the review of all statues of the adoption of Virginia, in line with other states.
Health & Science: Deborah Johnston
• The owner and president of Advantage Care Inc., Home Companion and Health.
• Creation of Hope Health Nursing Assistance Program, in cooperation with the Richmond redevelopment and housing.
Human relationships and faith in action: Shawnee Hansen Weitzel
• Founded in Richmond served Friends of the Homeless, a non-profit initiative as the basis for the fight against hunger and reduction of 3,300 meals per week.
• Forged a partnership with the City of Richmond schools to ensure that no child starve.
Nonprofit Management: Kathleen Burke Barrett
• General Manager at the Villa San Jose and was the first fundraiser at the Villa.
• Former CEO American Red Cross, 2004-08, and on the computer disaster management agency after 11 September terrorist attacks and Isabel and Tropical Storm Gaston.
• Member of the Bon Secours Richmond Board of Trustees.

• Member of the Advisory Board of the VCU Massey Cancer Center president, research for life fundraiser.

• In the summer of 2009 Richmond Christmas Mother, the head of the funds for the program is a joint effort of the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Army Hello.
