A Marine based at Camp Lejeune killed in Afghanistan Friday, the U.S. Department of Defense announced Saturday.
Lance Cpl. Joseph R. Giese, 24, of Winder, Georgia, died while performing combat operations in Helmand province.
He was up by 2 Assigned to Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
