This kaakinda JNTU College 1 February 1931 was part of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University WEF 02.10.1972 Technically, by an act of the legislature with other sister institutions under the control of the then Director of Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Previously, he has been affiliated Andhra University. In 2003 the university became autonomous.
