Suchitra Mitra Dead

Rabindra Sangeet exponent of the legendary Suchitra Mitra died at his home Monday after a cardiac arrest, family sources said. She was 86th



   Mitra died at 1:30 clock when he at lunch.



   Born in 1924, Suchitra Mitra kept tied up for six decades of music lovers with his interpretation of the melodies of Tagore, and CDs and high index of popularity, even today.

   Daughter of the writer Saurindra Mohan Mukherjee received his first lessons with the famous composer and singer, Pankaj Mullick and then went to Santiniketan on a scholarship.



   His skills have been singing under the guidance of experts such as Shantideva Shailajaranjan Ghosh Mazumdar ground. He made his recording debut in 1945.



   His interpretation of Tagore's songs like "Oi Ranga Matir Path Gram Chara", "Krishnakai", "the cultural eyepiece ekul Hridaya bheshe jai" Music fans have for decades capitavated.



   She was a former Sheriff of Calcutta (2001) and long-time professor and Director of Rabindra Sangeet Rabindra Bharati University.



   Mitra was awarded the Padma Shri in 1973 ....
