Chelsea Handler

Chelsea Handler dated 50 Cent “very casually,” the funny lady confirmed in an interview with Piers Morgan that aired Tuesday night. “I was just sampling… the atmosphere and seeing what was out there,” she said. Handler said the rapper is the complete antithesis of what you would imagine. “I mean he’s a sweetheart. He’s sweet and funny. He’s got a great sense of humor.” She confirmed he did send her gifts to try to woo her and explained why she sent them back: “I don’t really like gifts from rappers in general, since I’m not a hooker,” she joked. “I don’t like when men buy me ridiculous gifts, especially when I don’t know them well. I can buy my own gifts.”
Handler continued the frank talk about her personal life, saying that she didn’t want to have children. When Morgan suggested she might be wrestling with that great modern dilemma for successful women — in Morgan’s words, the belief that a child will suck the energy out of where you want it, your work, Handler said that’s not really her mindset: “I just don’t want a baby.”
It’s funny how shocking those words still can sound coming from a woman, isn’t it? Like it’s impossible for anyone to imagine that a single woman, especially one in her mid-to-late 30s, could point out an adorable toddler and not feel her own biological clock ticking. As Handler says, she has plenty of children in her life from her friends and family — she just has no desire to have a child of her own. She’d be too focused on it, and other things in her life would fall short. That doesn’t just have to mean work. Handler utilized her humor in the discussion — having a little Chelsea would be awful, she said, “I wouldn’t do that to a man. I wouldn’t do that to the country” — but it was still serious. And seeing that side of her was refreshing.
Watch clips from the interview below. She also talks honestly about why dating a coworker (like her former boss and boyfriend, Ted Harbert) isn’t wrong, why she’s never been married, how her older brother’s mountain climbing death when she was 10 affected her, why she has patience for Barack Obama, and how she feels about Sarah Palin. “That’s not a serious person. I can’t hate her … I hope to God that Sarah Palin doesn’t ever come close to becoming  president of any country that I’ve stepped in.”
