Lee Dewyze

On Wednesday, we published an article talking about some of the drama that has been circulating around the internet courtesy of reigning "American Idol" champ Lee DeWyze and the show's finale. To sum it up, a number of Lee's fans -- not to mention some people who very close to him -- were rather upset to see that he was not asked to perform on the final episode. Longtime fans of the show know that this is in many ways an understated tradition.
Lee did end up attending the finale, but refused to act upset about the snub in any posts on his Twitter account. However, there were a couple of strange moments that happened in the finale:

1. Lee was not really shown at all by the cameras
2. At one point, Ryan Seacrest went down into the audience and stood in front of his seat while talking -- almost totally blocking the singer from view

In making things even more interesting, we have a message from Nigel Lythgoe that could be viewed as some sort of veiled swipe at Lee:

"I was so upset Lee DeWyze wouldn't present the winners trophy to Scotty. Especially as he'd been on the show this Season. I guess he was shy"
What Nigel was referring to here is that Lee did perform new single "Beautiful Like You" during one of the early results shows of the season -- but this came after they switched around the dates on him.
