Ragini MMS Movie

Ragini MMS, a film that fuses horror and titillation, managed to get decent seat bums in theatres. Starring Kainaz Motivalaand Raj Kumar Yadav, Ragini MMS has got mixed movie reviews but a majority of them agree that the film breaks away from the conventions of horror genre; giving it a surge in collections at the box office.

On its opening day on Friday May 13, MMS Ragini got a 20 to 25 percent response in the morning shows but the occupancy increased to 40 percent by the evening. The film is said to be doing particularly well in Mumbai and its collection is likely to pick over the weekend. Since the film has been made on a skimpy budget it will manage to easily recover its costs.
The other releases of the week Stanley Ka Dabba, Love U... Mr. Kalakaar andShagird are faring poorly. Amole Gupte’s directorial debut Stanley Ka Dabba got rave reviews but has been unable to draw much crowd to theatres. Its collection ranged between 5 to 10 percent on the opening day.

Likewise, the Rajshri film Love U...Mr. Kalakaar and director Tigmashu Dhulia’s Shagird fared poorly at theatres with an occupancy within the 5 to 10 percent bracket.

However, last week’s release Haunted - 3d continues its unexpected run at the box office. The film has made Rs. 14.25 crore nett in its first week and is particularly doing well at the theatres screening it in 3D.

Ragani MMS should continue to see a pick up at the box office as the reviews are mostly positive.
